locations an documentation of the history of potential and existing
public and private land in local communities that can be used for
agricultural efforts, tree planting, wet land restoration, native
plants, and habitat preservation efforts.
Gardens that
are ready for cultural tourism and open for business in the communities
they serve or working on to up-grade existing gardens in their area.
Gardening
suppliers and vendors who are interested in having a positive
environmental impact on low-income neighborhoods, public land and urban
parks to achieve self sustainable communities or private developers and
landlords who are working with qualified neighborhood councils and
tenants at large to improve quality of life issues.

The Sierra Club Guide to Urban Gardens Guide is
designed to assist farmers, gardeners and local floral distributors,
fresh garden vegetables and herbal products to become readily available
to the Los Angeles Chapter enthusiastic Sierra Club members, regional
residents and visitors.
It is our hope that gardeners and farmers will
use this tool as an opportunity to share and leverage resources for
planting, nurturing and supplying the public with exciting fresh and
health foods and plants.
Sharing of locations of community gardens and
farmers markets are encouraged…! Send your listings and/or calendars to:
